Support of operation with EV: battery level sensor
A new battery level sensor is now available in the system, allowing users to determine the EV (electric vehicles) charging level in kWh. This sensor’s working principle is similar to that of fuel sensors: you can view charging sessions and energy consumption in reports, track dynamics in charts, and receive notifications about charging events. The introduction of the battery level sensor is a significant step toward developing a comprehensive infrastructure for electric vehicles in the system.

Recommendation system for automatic creation of popular sensors
At the unit creation stage, the system now recommends the most popular sensors previously created by other users for the same device type. Select the sensors you need from the list, copy them to your settings, and use them in your work. Note that currently, the list doesn’t include all types of sensors; however, it shows the most popular ones, namely mileage, ignition, and voltage sensors.
This feature will significantly simplify the initial stages of working with the system for new users and save time for the experienced ones.

Updated unit tooltip for the Online notifications window, Chat with driver window, and Video and Routes tabs
We are continuing to improve UI/UX. This time, we implemented the updated tooltip across various system sections. The redesigned unit tooltip is available on the Video tab, when working with the mini-map. The tooltip was also replaced in places where it’s essential to control various parameters and react to their changing, namely in the Online notifications window, Chat with driver window, and Routes tab. As usual, tooltip displays information according to user settings.

Updated unit tooltip now available on the Monitoring tab
Earlier this year, we began rolling out a redesigned unit tooltip across the system. Since then, it has been updated on key tabs including Jobs, Notifications, Drivers, Trailers, Passengers, Video, and Routes, as well as in mini-windows and other sections.
The latest update introduces the refreshed tooltip on the Monitoring tab. It appears in the work list both when you click on a vehicle's icon and when you hover over its name.
With this addition, the new tooltip is now seamlessly integrated across the entire system.

Bulk import of fuel fillings, drivers, and units from csv/xlsx files
Partners can now import data on fuel fillings, drivers, and units into Wialon from csv/xlsx files. This improvement makes the process of mass-creating elements faster and more convenient — there is no need to add them individually. During the import process, the system will verify the data and automatically add the correct fuel fillings, units, or drivers.
Bulk import of fuel fillings is particularly useful for units without fuel level sensors, as well as for generating reports on fuel fillings using fuel cards. The ability to quickly upload all the information into Wialon significantly simplifies the analysis and comparison of actual data with system-recorded data.
The mass creation of units or drivers allows for the addition of a large number of elements into the system at once, without the need to request technical support. This accelerates the process of adding new elements and streamlines the transfer of existing driver and unit databases into Wialon.

Sensor recommendations in the unit properties
We previously released a feature that allows users to create popular sensors automatically when creating new units.
Now, we have added the ability to create sensors based on recommendations in the unit properties. The system analyzes messages received from the unit and suggests the automatic creation of suitable sensors that are not yet configured.
This new feature further simplifies the process of creating sensors, allowing users to save time on routine tasks.

Information about the activated video service in Wialon
Users can now see the description of the activated video service in the account properties in CMS Manager. This enhancement makes it easy to quickly identify which unit has the activated service and the purchased traffic package.

Integration with Fleetio
Fleetio is a fleet maintenance management platform that does not have its own monitoring system. Integration with Wialon aims to simplify operations for our partners using the platform.
Wialon can now automatically send the following vehicle data to Fleetio: mileage, engine hours, fuel consumption, and location.
To take advantage of the new feature, first activate the Fleetio service in the Wialon CMS and enter Fleetio account credentials (username and password) in the user settings. Next, create a corresponding job to set up the data transfer from Wialon. The information will then be sent according to the specified schedule.
This integration enhances fleet management capabilities for our partners and their clients by combining Fleetio’s specialized tools with Wialon’s functionality.

Tasks functionality
We’ve introduced the Tasks feature to enhance Wialon’s event management. This tool streamlines fleet operations by simplifying work with events and ensuring that each one is properly overseen and addressed.
The Tasks tab consolidates all registered events into a single interface. When an event occurs, it appears in the task list, which is updated in real time. Fleet managers can assign tasks to different users, set priorities, track task statuses and leave comments detailing the actions taken on each event. Bulk editing is also supported, enabling efficient management of multiple events at once.
Besides, the feature allows users to filter and analyze historical events, sorting them by date, status, or priority. This helps to review past actions, assess performance, and identify areas for improvement.
Learn more about the feature in the Wialon help center, and stay tuned for a dedicated blog post.

Support for H.265 codec on Windows and macOS
We’ve added support for the H.265 codec on Windows and macOS. The codec compresses video more efficiently, allowing users to get smaller file sizes compared to the H.264 codec, which in turn reduces data traffic consumption.

To make this feature work, ensure the device sends video in H.265 and that both the browser and system are compatible with this codec.

Device health check
Wialon introduces the device health check feature — a tool designed to proactively monitor the health of trackers and sensors. This functionality enables users to detect hardware anomalies early, preventing minor issues from escalating into significant problems that could disrupt operations.

The device health check will be enabled by default to make it readily available. However, if needed, partners can easily manage the service by activating or deactivating it through the CMS Manager. The next step is to set specific criteria for each unit in the unit properties. They include battery level, data transmission frequency, GPS signal status, connection quality, and status of certain sensors. Based on these criteria, the system analyzes real-time data and automatically categorizes each unit as "Healthy," "Needs attention," or "Unhealthy," making it easy to identify devices that require maintenance or further investigation.

The health status of each unit is displayed in a color-coded pie chart on the Dashboard tab, providing a quick overview of device behavior. Additionally, users can hover over units categorized as "Unhealthy" or "Needs attention" to see a tooltip explaining why they were placed in that category, offering clarity on any detected issues. Users can also enable charts for each specific criterion to gain more detailed insights.
This feature not only helps reduce costs by minimizing unexpected hardware failures and the need for repairs but also decreases downtime through timely interventions, ensuring devices continue to operate efficiently. By maintaining hardware health, Wialon partners and their clients can enjoy uninterrupted service, leading to greater customer satisfaction.
We encourage you to explore the device health check feature once it becomes available. As this is the initial (MVP) release, your feedback will play a key role in refining the tool and shaping future updates. Please share your insights through the dedicated form on the Dashboard tab.

Video download manager
We are also introducing the video download manager, designed to streamline video file management within Wialon. This feature gives users a clear view of the status and progress of their video downloads, improving both efficiency and overall user experience.
The video download manager will display files currently downloading or those that have encountered errors directly in the Files tab. Users will see key details for each file, including the file name, tags, event date, and time. If a download fails, users will have the option to retry it with a simple click.
This feature will improve the user experience in several ways. By tracking download progress, users can quickly access important video files as soon as they’re ready. Additionally, the clear status updates make managing downloads straightforward and hassle-free.
