Hi All,
I'd like to set up a device to send a digital output to a buzzer over a certain speed limit and reset when the speed reaches back under a threshold. Any suggestions on how to approach this task?

PerthTaylor Sending the data to platform and receiving the command back -- it's not effective because it spends time and can't work in the area with low GSM cover. This feature should be set up inside your tracking device without platform.
What tracking device do you use? Teltonika, Galileosky, Ruptela, BCE can be set up inside tracking device configuration.

There are some trackers with "open collector" output which can be configured to operate in "due to event" mode.
In other words , tracker detects excess of the configured speed limit and activates output which trigger the buzzer.
I don't remember the particular manufacturer and model but try to check with OMNICOMM PROFI device features.
If ,occasionally , you will be interested with ""Forcible Speed Limit" feature in case of :
- seat belt is not fastened
- basket of damper truck is on lifted position
- door of the bus is not closed
- low tire pressure
- smooth remote vehicle immobilization
- entering/leaving predefined geo-zones etc.

Can only speak from using Calamp devices. Very easy to do...
Set a speed threshold value eg 120kph
Set output x to pulse when speed is more than this stored value
Set output x to clear when speed is less than this stored value
A buzzer can be added and will pulse as per above.
Im sure most devices can be configured in a similar way.

Look at the Galileosky v7 and the Ruptela pro4. Speed set by geozone group and this triggers a buzzer all from the device

Over speed buzzer =
GuardMagiv VB6; Guardmagic VB7 ; Guardmagic VB8 = setting speed limit in modules.
Two steps speed limit.
Modules have a special output to buzzer .
(buzzer included in modules set)
