Тема: Maintenance Recorder

Hello,
Is there a maintenance recorder App or Tab for a vehicle.

Basically one wants to put in the Maintenance History of the vehicle.
For example - New tyres- date , cost, provider
Replaced Gearbox, date, Mileage, Provider

Many thanks

Re: Maintenance Recorder

Hi Glenn,

You can register Maintenance event via Event Registrar functionality: http://docs.wialon.com/en/hosting/user/monitor/reg?s[]=event#register_maintenance_work

You can then create Maintenance report template to review Maintenance history:

Re: Maintenance Recorder

Hello all,
As we are new here and have moved some of our clients over, we are learning as we go.
We have found how to add service interval records and repairs. This is great.

However, it is linked to your history retention plan - standard is 4 months and you can add on up to 1 year. Anything you enter regarding service or repair record disappears with your tracking history once that period is up. A client who wants to know for example, last years total repair bill or to find out when last the clutch was replaced etc - will no longer have access to that info. All the records for the maintenance will be gone.

I think this should be kept separate from the tracking history. It kind of make using it pointless. Putting in all that details and only to have it disappear.

Is there anyway around this. Please can we look at this urgently as one of my clients uses this all the time.

Many thanks

Glenn

Re: Maintenance Recorder

You can store generated reports forever.

Re: Maintenance Recorder

Hi Glenn,

your client can generate report with tables like Events, Maintenance (for example, every month), then export result (to Pdf/Excel) and save file.
Also there is a packet to extend history storage up to 1 year.

Re: Maintenance Recorder

Hello Duig,
Thank you for your reply. I understand that now.
However this makes the Events /Repair History clunky in that the user has to do actions each month it order to keep the history of vehicle repairs and costs. Even with a years history it does not help.

I feel it does not form part of the tracking History and the vehicle history should be a separate. It would be good to have the full repairs of a vehicle always available.
It will not take up much space in the database.

Any thoughts on having this done?

Glenn

Re: Maintenance Recorder

Glenn, I'm not sure it helps but can you consider storing maintenance and other related information in unit's custom fields?

Re: Maintenance Recorder

Hi Glenn,

we propose our customers to use "Tasks" to create a monthly report with all important informations about his fleet.
most professional users have some kind of email archiv where they store emails for a much longer time than one year.
if you create good names for your reports, you will find them in your archive very fast.
As this reports are sent automatically, your client does not need to
- remember to create a report
- save it manually somewhere

Re: Maintenance Recorder

Hello Wolf and Duig,
The suggestions do not really solve my problem, having moved some of my customers over from another platform, where one could store maintenance records separate from tracking records, they have got used to it, so I am in a bind here. The Events here are perfect for  my customers and the issue is the 1 year cut off. I am willing to pay for for retention of my customers EVENTs to keep them longer. Service history and Maintenance history.
I am going to put in a request.

Thank you- Regards
Glenn

Re: Maintenance Recorder

Glen one of the options we are looking at for longer data retention is to move the data such as a maintenance details and violation reporting in a content management system. We are also looking to capture maintenance manuals and various SOP's there as well. We have requested Gurtam to all for hyperlinks to be allowed in Wialon so we can call the content management system from Wialon. We can also add links using sensolator.

This may be an option for you.

Re: Maintenance Recorder

We are integrating Wialon to a product called M-Files as it also has a mobile client. We are using the client to capture photo's of accidents, damage claims etc and generate incident reports and associated reviews. This way we can have workflows start out side of Wialon, interface with Wialon as needed and capture data that may not be able to be captured in Wialon plus share content with third party maintenance service providers such as parts price lists, service requests etc. The providers will directly update the record with what was carried out as a part of the maintenance as well as cost information into the content management system. This is because many of our customers do not want the cost fields to be seen by everyone. We can hide individual fields based on access rights.

Let me know if you need additional information Glen
