Ecodriving Implementation

Topic: Ecodriving Implementation

Hi,

The latest ecodriving setting in unit properties is excellent. However, we are a bit in the dark as to understand how the tracker will trigger the server. This is due to the fact that the message polling from the tracker is set at a certain interval and does not include ecodriving parameters as set by wialon. Otherwise, we are just waiting for the coincident.

IMHO, there is mismatch between the tracker and the setting that prohibit the new ecodriving setting to work properly.

We believe that we MUST accommodate changes in our tracker's firmware so that it will send message to the server as soon as the ecodriving parameter/threshold is met. The ecodriving configuration shall be the exactly the same as wialon's.

Hence, we would like to apply this logic into our firmware. Please advise us on the logic or formula that you use to implement the above setting. Our main application is for trucks.

Re: Ecodriving Implementation

Hello!

The ecodriving templates were created on users based practice. The algorithm of calculating is an iIntellectual property of Gurtam and cannot be shared. All that is not a secret you can find in documentation.

Also you can use your tracker's data as a separate critetia and get the result more accurate than is calculated in Wialon by GPS data.

Re: Ecodriving Implementation

Hello!

It was great update adding drivers names and group names to ecodriving app. Is it planning in future for export excel file directly from app, not from report type?
Thank you in advance.

Re: Ecodriving Implementation

Hello!

I want to ask you some questions to clarify the request.
What information and in what form (tables or diagrams with map) do you want to export from EcoDriving app? And why Hosting report doesn't suit you?

Re: Ecodriving Implementation

We have just started trailing this for a customer's fleet of trucks, primary need is to capture harsh acceleration.

I have a question regarding the "default" speed calibration/config and how it is reported.

We have run a few reports and viewed/compared with the Eco Driving app. My question after reading docs it says that speeds are drawn from Google maps.

If this is so, why does this speeding not show up when we generate a separate speeding report?

In one instance a speeding violation is shown in both Eco Driving Report and Eco Driving App however it does not show this speeding instance when a Speeding Report is generated.

Thanks.

Hello,

My question after reading docs it says that speeds are drawn from Google maps.

Please, clarify, where have you found this information.

In one instance a speeding violation is shown in both Eco Driving Report and Eco Driving App however it does not show this speeding instance when a Speeding Report is generated.

Please, send more information about this issue to support@gurtam.com:
* user name
* unit name
* report name
* time interval to check

Re: Ecodriving Implementation

Cheers Oleg,

I think we have found why speeding shows in Eco Driving but not in a standard Speeding report.

We have noted that customer units are setup in Advance settings as "Use fixed limit" speed, rather than by "Use limits from roads".

So with Eco Driving taking speeds from road limits as is noted in doc: https://docs.wialon.com/en/hosting/cms/units/eco a Standard Speeding report will not show this given the different Unit Advanced settings - only showing in the Eco Driving. smile

Thanks.

Re: Ecodriving Implementation

Is there a way that speeding can be filtered in order to disregard, similar to Message validity filtration in Advanced settings of unit?

I see a number of Speeding violations that appear to be way off the charts, suspect that either it may be the unit or another issue. As shown in image attached - one shows the truck driver was doing 54km over speed limit. Maybe we can adjust Eco Driving settings to ignore what would be in this case incorrect?

We have found using limits from roads often very inaccurate sadly - speed changes with roadworks are common and take some time to update.

Cheers.

Re: Ecodriving Implementation

Good day,

Is there a way that speeding can be filtered in order to disregard, similar to Message validity filtration in Advanced settings of unit?

"Messages Validity Filtration" helps to filter out the GPS data from invalid message. If speed from message exceeds value from tab "Advanced Properties", than speed, coordinates, satellites count and altitude are deleted from the message. It means, that it can't be used for speeding or Eco Driving control.

I see a number of Speeding violations that appear to be way off the charts, suspect that either it may be the unit or another issue. Maybe we can adjust Eco Driving settings to ignore what would be in this case incorrect?

Also you can use "max speed" filter in Eco Driving criterias to cut off high speed values.

We have found using limits from roads often very inaccurate sadly - speed changes with roadworks are common and take some time to update.

Roadworks start and finish everyday, it is almost impossible to keep road limits up-to-date in the whole world in real time.
Still you can apply changes in OSM -- our map specialists periodically take new data from this source.
