I know we have the ability to register events at the moment but they are limited in the amount of information that we can put into the registration is it possible to add a more free form event registration. The need to to be able to add information regarding an incident into the system that can capture both text and attached images as well as have a review data associated with the entry so we can trigger an alert when the review date has passed. The images could be from GPS Tag or from other images stored on the network.

We would have a capability to classify each incident into a particular catagory that is in a maintained pull down list, plus the status of the incident.

The Incident would be registered initialy in Wialon, classified and taged as open, then a review date set for the completion of the incident review. Upon completion of the review the findings would be added to the incident and the incident closed.

If the Hyperlink feature, as asked for in another topic, is added we can create the detail of the registration in an externeal system and have the two instances linked.

JohnG,ок, we can add "comment" field and "upload image" feature here.

Do you have a vision on classification of the events? what categories you need? (and appropriate statuses to each).

(as to the "external system" you should understand that those features that we add to Wialon Hosting should be good for the majority of our users, not just to those who have an unnamed "external system")

Hi Aliaksandr,

Great to see something happening on this request.

I was looking for it to be in the custom event registration as these are not related to services events. They are things like, product spill, accident, customer complaint etc that are related to the vehicle and the driver and the follow up investigation that needs to be done. The custom event does not have a classification, due date and ability to capture an image.

The hyperlink capability is to link to any external system that can be called by a hyperlink. I can creat a custom field and enter in the link but it is treated as text so cannot trigger the jump. The system we want to link to is M-Files which is the document management system we use for customers. Investigation documentation would be through M-Files as tis needs to have different access rights than what would be in Wialon.

Having hyperlink capability allows for simpler conectivity to ERP or Logistic systems as well.

JohnG, ок. i've got you.
do agree that we need a place to register custom (not recurring) events, happening to the unit(vehicle).
a place better than custom fields.

we will work on that.
the question is what information would you like to have there?

Now i see it this way:
time - event type (not sure) - event comment - picture (uploadable)

i think the only thing missing from your view is the trigger date for a potential investigation that can be used in a notification alert if the investigation has not happened by that date. So I suppose we also need a field to hold an investigation ID. So if the investigation ID is filled in the alert does not tigger. The larger logistics companies we deal with have a formal investigation system. this nis where hyperlinking comes in :-)

The event type would be a user definable pull down list if possible, to add to it you have to have the correct rights.

For the picture if it has been sent to Wialon already is it possible to simply link to the message. For example i use GPS tag to capture the image and send it to wialon or I have a GPS device that has a camera attached and it has sent the images, can i simply access the messages from the custom event screen and highlight the ones i want to have linked to the event?

Is it possible to add custom fields to custom events? This would give some capability to enter data like in a form.
