Monitor operations that tractor is doing

Among others we have to monitor  what type of work tractor is doing, since there is many operation tractor  can do I need solution for this.
For example:
if tractor is plowing sensore is sending 1
if it is discing sending 2 ETC.

This could be done by folowing? :

Large number of digital inputs?

LCD screen with special application written for this and via rs232 (teltonika FM53) sent to server?
Maybe by RFID so that every operation has its own RFID?
Ibutton same as RFID?

Any suggestions?
