Show actual temp in notification text, not temp at trigger time

Тема: Show actual temp in notification text, not temp at trigger time

I have a customer with a narrow alarming chain for temperatures.

He is using Warning in a certain temp-frame and Alarming in a narrower temp-frame.

Warnings after 10 - 30 - 60 - 120 minutes
Alarms after 0 - 15 - 30 - 60 - 120 - 180 minutes.

When i set notifications with the relevant delay, i always get the temperature
which was triggering the notification, not the temperature at the time the mail is sent.
The current temperature would be important to see the developement of the temperature to
be able to react accordingly.
Currently this can only be done with cascaded notifications and changing unitgroups.
For this number of notifications, which are double for night and day this is a fault risc.

Possible solution:
Add a new Tag for notification text, which uses the actual temperature at the moment the notification is sent.

Usage:
Any customer who needs a correct temperature alarming.

Show actual temp in notification text, not temp at trigger time

Re: Show actual temp in notification text, not temp at trigger time

create 2 groups

1 : group with all units
2 : empty group

a notification on all units will be trigirred after 10 - 30 - 60 - 120  that will add the unit to the empty group without removing it from the first one.

another notification will be triggered on the empty group , it will send the notification (temp value ) when a new unit is added to the group by the first
notification and also it will remove it from the empty group.
so after 10 min unit will be added to the second group and then a notification will send the temp value and remove it from the group
after 30 - 60 - 120 you will do the same

Re: Show actual temp in notification text, not temp at trigger time

Thanks for your answer.

The problem is, i have different alarms for night and day, alarms and warnings.
To handle this correct and having the delay time in the notification, this means i would need

9 groups (warning and alarm) + about 40 notifications

Notifications needed:
- First alert 0 Minutes
- Add group 15 after 15 minutes
- Notification 15 Minutes (E-Mail with temperature)
- Add group 30 after 15 minutes + remove group 15
- Notification 30 Minutes (E-Mail with temperature)
.....

This is not a nice and handy solution, but currently the only way.

Hi Stephan, your idea is fully clear.

I know that the current solution is not the most elegant one, but anyway it exists and you can solve your task accordingly.
I will add this suggestion to our partners wishlist as I can totally understand that users are interested not in the sensor value, for which the notification was triggered, but rather in the actual sensor value at the moment the notification is sent.

The use case still seems to be a very restricted one, that's why I believe that it is better not to expect an immediate solution as we primarily aim at solutions for a bigger number of users and wider use cases, but your idea is not ignored.
