Topic: Smartphone based access/entry control.

Hello,
If you get the project where Smartphone-based access/entry control required, carsharing applications, for example, contact us at info@xmetra.com. We offer access/entry control solution (hardware and mobile App) based on Smartphone (Android or iOS) Bluetooth enabled.

How about a Bluetooth Driver ID system?  I have a use case for using mobile phones bluetooth for setting the Driver ID and passenger count within vehicles.  Ideally I would want something that could work with an OBDII device or something that could pair via Wifi to send the data report to Wialon.

Re: Smartphone based access/entry control.

Hello, do I understand correctly that you are interested to get driver ID via Bluetooth instead of the RFID card? What is the purpose?: 1. If  ID is in the list of allowed the device will let the ignition to start on the engine? 2. Or you wish just to send the ID to Wialon? Or you wish 1+2 features together? or other ideas? Pls. advice.

Yes use Bluetooth to get the ID instead of RFID card.  Purpose is to send the ID to Wialon.

Simplex Technology is NOT a fleet management or traditional GPS Tracking company.  We are a Smart Home Integrator and solutions provider.  What we are working on is using Wialon to integrate vehicle telematics into the "Smart Home".  Bringing vehicle sensor data and Geolocation (geofences) into Smart home usage for automation of events.

One request/use that we have not completed is the use of Bluetooth for Driver ID for use in automations where both a vehicle AND a Driver must both be present before the security automation happens.

Scenario walk through/explanation.

Requirements/Setup:
1. Vehicle has GPS Tracker with BT support
2. Driver/Passengers have Phones with BT
3. Phone BT "ID" is registered with Wialon (same as RFID is setup)

When a driver enters a vehicle the GPS Tracker will send the Driver ID to Wialon associating the Driver with the vehicle.  Now the driver goes about their business etc however things are setup ready for when they "return home".

Upon returning "home" they enter the geofence this sends a notification to the automation server.  In this message is the vehicle information AND Wialon has already associated a Driver to this vehicle.  IF the vehicle AND Driver are authorized THEN the security gates open and the garage door then opens and the alarm system is disabled upon arrival.

The reverse happens of alarm arming, garage locking and security gate locking upon Exit of the geofence.

The Passenger ID/Count is an additional request to count the passengers.  This information can be passed to the automation server and depending on a rule perform different events.  Such as if the vehicle is only supposed to have 1 person inside and the vehicle returns home with 2+ people?  This is a violation and raises a security flag.

Re: Smartphone based access/entry control.

Hi,
I understand the requirements and seems that our system in "as is "configuration doesn't fit them. But if the driver+passengers+ car association in Wialon is not the must, you can test our "on the shelf" solution which you can implement on the fast and cost effective manner and brings more  features and benefits finally. I guess it will meet almost all the security, identification and access control requirements.

That is the primary requirement.  I want this information passed to Wialon to associate the Driver + Vehicle + Passengers.  This provides a single point of record for this information (Wialon) to then perform the notifications that are sent to the automation servers.

By far the "simplest" method would be for Wiatag to associate with a Vehicle (such as the stereo).  When the Wiatag user enters the vehicle Wiatag would send a message indicating the user was in the Vehicle providing the association information.  The outstanding problem would be Driver vs Passenger ID which could be handled within Wialon as a Driver ID must first be registered.  So if Wiatag sends the report and it's registered then that user becomes the Driver and all others are passengers.

The "problem" with this scenario is that it requires Wiatag to run in active mode all the time which will drain the users phone battery.  It is preferable that this ID association be performed from a powered device such a a wired GPS Tracker or OBD Tracker.  We are doing some experiments with Calamp in this regards as well.

I see.
Wish you good luck with your project.

Re: Smartphone based access/entry control.

Let me discuss your requirement with my instrumentation guy as we are building a generic BLE reader to connect to GPS devices and capture beacon data so if the phone is sending an ID we should be able to capture it and match it with an on device validator. We are doing validation in our reader for security reasons and the lists can be updated using the GPS device RS232 port. The reader could then send an authorization code to your system at the home or through the GPS device using its RS232 port to Wialon.

Does the solution i described work for you?
