Is it possible to code in additional items into a notifications, specifically Group Name or Group Description.   

We do not name the individual geofences because there is no way to turn off labels and they tend to clutter the maps.   As a result our geofences are oftern named   '   or ,  or .  to use as small a space on the maps as possible.       Using the name in the notification would be pointless based on this.

We do, however, give very detailed group names such as 8405 Project X - Calif.    We replicate this in the group description.

We would like to see a notifcation for when an alert is triggered outside a geofence that says:

"Unit PDW1711 from unit group PDS1125GC1  clicked outside the delivery geofences in 8405 Project X - Calif group.
At 2018-11-13 11:47 am it moved with speed 0 mph near '1121 W North Ln, Phoenix, AZ 85021."

Thank you for this idea.
But if you are using notifications by geofences then you can use tag %ZONE_DESC% and add all necessary information about geofence in its description.
