I think it is absolutly possible to do but i think you need to look at the market capability for unit registrations across human, mobile and fixed assets in your country. Plus I would recomend that you augment your tracking services with process optimization, content management and specialised condition monitoring and offer an integrated service.

Yup, it is possible. My company is did almost $200,000 for the year of 2017.
The reason I was seeing if anyone else is also taking this serious is because I'd love to discuss ideas and challenges.
Do you only do tracking, or is this something you do on the side?
We do tracking as well as integration with content management as there is a lot of items the customers want to capture that are outside of the tracking application. We are also not adding MDVR capability to the tracking side as I think video and video analytics will be big in 2018.

Nice! I do have quite a few customers asking about video cameras for vehicles, but I'm not too sure about what supplier to work with for this.
Do you have any recommendations?
We are working with Streamax but I know some partners are using Howen. We have just ordered the Streamax ADAS system that has been released this month for testing. They are not the cheapest but the quality is very good and the server software is free if you want to host your own media serve and charge customers to access.
Do they also have options for cloud based hosting? I really don't want to get involved with hosting anything ourselves. I'd prefer a model where we pay for data or device connected.
i dont belive that some serios partner is telling you here how much he earn. But there are Partners that have ten-thousends of devices and have turnarounds of millions of USD. with tracking.
Of cause you can not have success if you use this "free" chines plattforms as you have it to give away for free (and also the hardware for free). :-))))

Maybe they won't tell me exactly how much they make per year, but they could tell me if they make $100k+.
If you have over 1000 devices you should be making $400k+/year depending where you are.
I'm looking for ideas/tips on how to handle/grow the company when you're at 100+ b2b clients.
Ok... we do more than $100k.
We have more than 1000 Units and yes we do more than $400K.
Everybody i know in this business who is doing it in a professional way "makes" that.
Conclusion: If you are just starting your business --> you have a target of what to "make".
If you have already that amount of units and earn less ---> you do something wrong.
In my opinion there are two ways to handle/grow if you have hudreds of clients:
Method 1: Invest a lot of money into good staff, train them, give your customers all your phone numbers and provide 24/7 Service (like Gurtam does)
Problem: you need to grow very fast to pay for all that staff. Growing very fast means typical you invest a lot of money (for low HW prices and/ or advertising/sales)
Method 2: You have your hardware and installation so perfect under control that you have no problems with that. And you teach your customers to help them self by reading the manual and playing arround with the plattform. So you can handle many hundred customers with a small team. Depends on your region, mentality of your clients and so on and so on.
If you are asking for "i am new in this business, i have no idea how it works but want to "make" $100k+ and looking for help to become better than your competitors: --> wrong place to ask in a public forum full of competitors :-)))))
But from my experience: if you write more detailed questions / problems you face, maybe someone here will help you with ideas.
