hi i recently tried to get our Helios GPS from (Starcom Systems) connected to Wialon Hosting, support ask me to connect in UDP way, so i had to use the EAI option from the Starcom Systems routing in order to get it work (see configuration attached), so i now can see all information from those devices but the problem is that i can not send any command from the wialon platform to the devices nor EAI interface, does anyone know how to make configuration in order to be able to send commands also to helios devices?

There are supported several commands for Helios device in Wialon :
Custom message, driver messages, query location via virtual canal (GPRS commands, link type Virtual)
It means when device just connect to server a command will be executed
Also it's possible to send Custom sms command (if your device supports it)
You can create required commands in unit properties

i configure STarcom Proxy (EAI) with information from Gurtam about helios configuration 193.193.165.165 port 20613, so that im capable to see information from helios gps devices, but i tried to send auto and gprs commands to devices and i get error messages from gurtam, i read starcom manual and they say that we should configure EAI proxy in udp port as client and another port as a server in order to send and recieve messages (commands) from and to gps devices, as i can see in gurtam page there is only one port information and that port let us receive messages from devices but not to send commands to them, so there is some missing information about it. Please let us know how to proceed, we need to be capable to send commands to helios

You can send SMS/Virtual commands to devices of that type.
However if Helios supports GPRS commands as well and they are described in it's protocol/manual, i suggest that you contact our HW team (support@gurtam.com) and query them to add new commands type.

Starcom systems is a good known Israeli company .

Helios is for  cars.

hi there, I have been trying to configure my Helios Adv to connect to  Wialon Hosting but i can't get the device to connect to the server. i have used both IP and port numbers on the link http://gurtam.com/en/gps_tracking/gps_h … ?id=575673 but no luck.

does anyone have any idea

Hi hamanaye,

did you see, that device must be configured to use UDP? (Communication via UDP)?

use this tool http://id.wialon.net/ to see if your ID is receiving and you configured the device in a correct way.

If you DONT see your ID there (after setting the correct IP adress to your device) you did something wrong!

Hi,

I want to Shift some Helios advance on gurtam, Is it possible to point the device directly to Gurtam Ip 193.193.165.165 port 20613  as per gurtam docoment (http://gurtam.com/en/gps_tracking/gps_h … ?id=575673)
or
I need to  any third party proxy (EAI)?

Becoz i tried to set one test unit but unit was not coming online,

Hi,
I need help from anyone who are using Starcom helios on Gurtam, I have 1000 + unit to shift on Gurtam, Helios Basic and Helios Advance,
I tried to configure helios advance unit on on gurtam IP 193.193.165.165 with port 20613, But unit is not comming online,

Please guy let me know the procedure if it is different than what i am doing.

Here you can check if the unit sends data ...or is connected

Hi,

Tested with Test server IP 193.193.165.167 and Port 201613,
but still no luck, not seeing any events from unit side,

For me it seems so that you did not check the checkboxes at IP and port :-))

Did you try that and save it?
Did you try to read on a serial terminal if the device sends some kind of debug output? All beter HW i know sends some debug messages on serial port and you can check what devices is doing.

Hi there
A customer have some Helios devices installed on fleet and we want to check possibility of using Wialon with these devices. We don't have SMS commands to change server IP and port to Wialon. Any one can help us in this case?

But it is possible to use it with Wialon via special routing software which should be installed on the special dedicated server.
This routing software is supplied by Starcom only.
You can ask Starcom support about all nuances.

I have a client who wants to move helios to wialon. The units have the correct IP and Port number. However the units are not coming online on http://id.wialon.net/

if the client was on starcom previously do they need to remove the units to work on wialon.

Hello lads
We setup EIA to forward Helios AVL datapackets to Gurtam platform. It takes 5 minutes only.
Easy cake.
Have a question for you, Does SMS command exist to change IP:port. All I can see on manual is to manipulate inputs / outputs.
I'd appreciate if some of you provide a list of SMS support command as change IP:port, period transmitt rates ON/ OFF, APN, etc

Can you please give a brief step by step procedure? I have routing app but don't know how to use it to send data to wialon. I have starcom Helios.

Andi All settings will be made by manufacturer because EAI function can be given by Starcom only.
We have already discussed it by email.
