Actually modem inside  can be various (you can use any USB stick modem inside the smart witness).

We tested smart witness in May (it was very hot in my car) but there were no any problems with modem.

I have many years of experience with "external" usb modems. There are only 2 Manufactors (Huawei, ZTE,) who are producing the chipsets for this low cost usb sticks. None of them i ever used (and i have round about 20 of them) worked stable for a longer time than a few days.
I heard from 3 different Gurtam Partners, that they have tested it and it was unstable.

If i look at this https://gurtam.com/en/gps-hardware/auto … itness-kp1 it also seems not to be used very much!

Try Huawei model T1330. I bought a handful of them at $25 each modem. They work fine with Smart Witness camera KP1.
