hi dear Gurtam Team,

it would be cool to be able to create for each billing profile a smtp server (ssl or so) with username and password and sender adress.
We are experiencing more and more problems with blocked gurtam mailserver (for example SPF) etc.
And adding gurtam mail server as incoming mailserver is not such a great idea (if original mailserver is offline all mails will be send to gurtam smtp server and lost or blocked).

Hello - there are actually two ways
- a good one
- a not so good one

Second is described in the docs as is much simplier for most of our customers - just adding an MX in the DNS zone with lowest prio.
A good one is allowing mx in the spf records (a TXT) - so mailing will be oridnary (without bouncing to our server), but incoming from mx.gurtam.net will be allowed. Adding a proper SPF usually requires a postmaster, that knows what he is doing and that is why we did not include that in the docs - maybe we should think over that?

Hi Sergey,

third way would be (hopefully in the near future) to be able to add in config of billing plan your own SMTP Server.
Keeps the load of your SMTP lower and would be even possible for people who can not change / add etc. their DNS settings correct...

But i will look into this spf record think...

here is a little sample SPF record:

v=spf1 a mx a:mx.gurtam.com mx:mx.gurtam.com ip4:77.74.50.79 ~all

(needed to be added as TXT string in dns zone)

Why do You use ip in SPF record?
For few years we have only
txt: v=spf1 mx:gurtam.com ~all and it works perfect.

Why do You use ip in SPF record?

no, i am just not understanding it 100% and my "SPF generator" asked for all options...

So as i understand its a "or, or, or" rule...
