Hi Steve,
Could you let us know why you are looking to use Inmarsat service with their high latency and not lower obit constellation service, such as GlobalStar, Iridium or Orbcomm?

There is russian multifunctional system for personal satellite communications and data transmission "Gonets".

Gonets devices are supported by Wialon. But how Gonets works i don't know exactly.

For 2way communication Skywave/Orbcom is still the system with the lowest costs and the best technical parameters. At the moment i dont see any serious alternatives!
Globalstar is for kids (sorry, its just one way without any warranty that your data was received) and Inmarsat and direct iridium is much too expensive.
