Тема: Testing devices in CMS
Hello,
Is it possible to add new column with coordinates or with a link to Google maps to know that device was correctly installed?
I know this can be seen in wialon interface but it will be easier from CMS.
Thanks

locationGPS, sorry, I don't understand your idea.
Maybe you mean you need to see in CMS Manager whether device is "alive" or not? For that, you don't need coordinates, because there is a column with time of last message. It might be enough. You can even sort units by their last message.
i understand my idea was taken in the meeting...
I checked this column with "Last Messages" and it really means the time last received coordinates. So, this column can be proof that device sends GPS data correctly.
and of those coordinates where get from the office where it was tested?
locationGPS, sorry, don't get your question. Can you reformulate it?
how do you explain this situation then:
I see data coming but the position is not where it is shown....
what I need is the actual position so I can click on the coordinates and see where really is the object.
Thanks
I suppose in this case, the only way is to use Main Interface interface of CMS, because CMS Manager doesn't support any map layers.
what about a link to google maps¿¿ It will not charge the CMS and will be useful for us
You know, testing devices in CMS is not what CMS is made for. If there is a need to see a unit on the map then it's better to use the tracking interface. And another possibility which is frequently used by our partners is to provide installation people with Wialon Mobile Client so that they may estimate device positioning by themselves.
However, I would not deny that Wialon lacks specific tools for installation people. But it's not a question of a column in CMS or any other small feature. It seams it should be an independent tool (app, web interface) in future.
a pity
ok, close it
thank
