Topic: Usage of Voltage-Sensors (practical sample)

Hi dear Wialon Users,

just got an angry mail from an customer that our hardware is always consuming to much power and that they could not start the cars after weekend.

as we know, that this could not be (hardware consumes 48mA per hour) we just added a "analog" sensor in Wialon which uses the parameter of power supply in our hardware. than i created an report which shows me the voltage of the main battery of the car (=powersupply).

On first car we could see, that the car was not used nearly 2 weeks (which consumed round about 13Ah, if you calculate that there are also some other "standby" devices in the car which consumes a bit power this is for an 6 years old batterie absolut normal that it doesn want to start after that

on second car we could see, that power-voltage drops even after weekend from 12,3volt to 11,8 Volts and after 4 Days below 10 Volts.
= battery is bad.

Nice or? just 2-3 clicks and you know if your customer just makes bla bla.

Wolf.

Re: Usage of Voltage-Sensors (practical sample)

Hello wwbusch aka Buwo

Right, the only thing is that is very frustrating for customers this situation as they thinks our gps equipment is 'eating' the battery, so is hard to make him think different as before the gps installation everything was working great,

in such case (long parking periods) it would nice to put the device in sleep or deep sleep mode, waking up from any movement or electric signal change, any way god tip for GPS that read the VIN voltage and automatically you got a SENSOR in Wialon that detect power failures.

Re: Usage of Voltage-Sensors (practical sample)

many GPS device from china , it have different working mode  , I am representative the LK series device , it come with 3 working mode ,
each working mode as attached picture .

when the device go into GSM working only , this is the most saving power condition ( GSM on  current will be 1---4 mA )
