Maintance/Service recorder

It is very important to have a module Cost Management allows not only record all the costs associated with maintenance but to fleet operations generally either fixed or variable, including fuel, tolls, insurance, maintenance, tires, wages, per diem , etc.

For example, in the calculation of fuel consumption, add functions for calculating operating costs in money and which the user becomes aware of what it means fuel use.
Or to be able to automatically calculate the associated costs to transport either to the distribution, freight forwarding and others.

Is this realy something that should be captured in Wialon? There are a lot of mainainence applications out in the market and it would be fare easier to connect from Wialon to these. This is what we are doing, connecting a content management system to Wialon. This was one of the reasons that i requested a hyperlink capability in Wialon...which by the way also works in the Mobile client.

We are linking all of the procedures, notifications, driver licencing, spare parts lists, costing data etc in the content management system. So things like the MOT requierment is simple to configure in the external application.

My concern is that if we try to do everthing in Wialon, rather than looking at a loose coupling approach, the application becomes way more complex and places an additional burden on the development team.

Things change and so do the requierments from customers and across countries  so we will never have solution that will suite everyone. Having Wialon as the collector of operational metrics and doing what is does best the monitoring of assets and connecting to purpose built solutions for the other stuff in my opinion is the way to go.
