Starfinder AVL-110

Topic: Starfinder AVL-110

The above unit, Starfinder AVL-110, has been successfully operating using the settings provided earlier by our vender; we have been able to track the unit and its location. Recently we decided to migrate to Gurtam which seems to offer better options. Gurtam provided me with their settings but the unit was unable to connect. Please see the settings below and provide me suggestions with what I need to do or reasons why I am unable to cennect using Wialon.

The Device is on TCP. In my opinion, Gurtam needs to provide:

1) Server IP and the Port
2) Alternative Server and Port.

That is what the device requires. See my earlier settings. Since Gurtam provided (1) only, I made the setting from (1) in both cases. I think that is where the problem lies. Please urgently someone help!

Re: Starfinder AVL-110

OK, then I do not see in the system any unit with unique ID 80001424. Please create it, specify correct hardware type and unique id with value 80001424 (from your 1st message) and then try to connect unit.

Re: Starfinder AVL-110

You will not find the unit ID 80001424 in your system because in the first place, there was no connection made. I have told you from the very beginning that the unit did not connect and therefore it will not show in your system. I do not understand why you are avoiding to mention the issue of alternative server and port. Further, do you really have  technical support team?  On the second line we have put the Unit ID. Please discuss the problem on the Forum in Russian...you may get a suggestion. I am disappointed by lack of technical support

Re: Starfinder AVL-110

Please open device settings and specify unique ID value in appropriate field. Otherwise your device will not be detected by the system during connection.

Re: Starfinder AVL-110

Refer to your reply above. You are repeating the same thing oever and over again. During the device setting process, the only place it asks for unit ID is on line (2) as shown above:

AVL Unit ID (80001424) as you can see.

Please look at the settings we made before repeating that we put unit ID. Are you on Skype? Please provide us with your Skype ID. We need to speak because we do not seem to undertand each other.

Re: Starfinder AVL-110

Hi we have have put the unit AVL Unit ID (80001424) in your web service. But the issue here is that the unit is not able to communicate with your server since we dont have the GPRS Alternative Static Server IP and the GPRS Alternative Server Port. please refer to the message that we had sent earlier for the uni settings.

Re: Starfinder AVL-110

We have named Apollo 1 for unit No. ID 80001424 and put it into your system. I am sure that that will not solve the problem which you have failed to apprecaite. Please let me know whether to abandon this effort as I have customers waiting needing this service and we cannot continue waiting. It has been long two weeks now and no progress. I have asked you about the alternative server and port and you never comment about that. Please refer to my posting No.1 and carefully study the data sheet.

Re: Starfinder AVL-110

t may be so that the unit is unable to connect to high port due to some restrictions in its firmware, try port 4989.

Re: Starfinder AVL-110

The problem is not with the port. You do not seem to understand how the system works. Please seek advice from someone with good IT knowledge, take him/her through our correspondence. Don't you have an alternative server IP?

13

Starfinder AVL-110

Re: Starfinder AVL-110

No we have only 1 server IP.

Re: Starfinder AVL-110

Through the Hyperterminal, the device askes you some inputs which one has to make. It is only after those correct inputs have been made that my device will start searching for your server. Please go through the Hyperterminal inputs I made in my posting No 1. Do you have anyone else using AVL 110 supported by your systems. Perhaps you can give me their email and I can seek some help. I am finding it strange that your technical support is through a public forum.

Re: Starfinder AVL-110

test12750513090, I'm sure you can request this support from your supplier. Device was supported by communicating directly with manufacturer, please ask them your questions. We are responsible only for software part, e.g. if you can't point unit to server we can't help you.

Re: Starfinder AVL-110

Thanks for your reply. I thought you have listed your system as able to support Starfinder AVL-110. I will try to ask Laipac what I need to do in order to migrate but I am not sure to get coorperation. However, the issue lies with my inabilty to point to your alternative server. Could you find out from your one existing client how they managed to get hooked on? Let me say without releasing too many details as this is an open forum, that I am certain to have at least 3000 gadgets within the next one year managed by Wialon if we get round to this problem. The only reason as to why I am interested in you is because your product presentation looks good but that is not enough. It has to be backed by real susbstance. Please think  through this problem.

Re: Starfinder AVL-110

test12750513090, you may try any other IP as reserve, it should not be a problem. Also some APN names (especialy for telematic operators) allow connections only to certain IP addresses.
