Topic: GPS rollover 06. april 2019 compatibility
hi ladies and gentlemen,
we dont know, if you are using old gps tracking devices, but there is a so called "gps week rollover" on 6th of april 2019
which can make your gps data invalid (time is -19,7 years), if you use very old gps tracking hw or have long time ago installed
devices...
you should ask your hw manufactor, if the hw was produced before 2010.
Details are available at https://ics-cert.us-cert.gov/sites/defa … S_2019.pdf
following (old) hw has been checked and confirmed to work after 06th of april 2019:
info received by JohnG via Teltonika:
fm1100,fm5300, fm5500 and following
info received by wwbusch aka buwo via BCE
all fm-blue devices and after that
waiting for reply of meitrack VT310 and starnav rover
best regards
John and Wolf
Update 20.02.2019: Message from Teltonika
"I would like to inform that the issue has been fully tested and will not occur with Teltonika devices.
To be sure that our system will not experience any failures related to this issue, test was performed simulating situation in the laboratory.
All products with GPS modules TG1000, GGG, Neo-5m and LocSys SC-1513 after the GPS Rollover event will work as expected and continue to operate without issue."
Update 28.02.2019: BCE tested for us also our Meitrack VT310 (works until 2027) and Starnav Rover 9 (works until 2023)
So if you want to be sure, ask BCE for tests and pay for it and sleep relaxed :-)))
