In Speed Violations report, if 'use limits from roads' is selected in the unit advance properties for speeding, then the report shows the speed limit from the road and considers violations if the unit exceeded the speed limit from the road. Is it possible to also use speed limit for roads to trigger notifications, rather than a fixed limit selected in the notification properties?

We thought about the same thing about 18+ months ago and found one problem if this was able to be done. At least for here in Aus.
Because of many roadworks all over the country all times of the year the speed limits constantly change greatly week to week in many areas accordingly.
Often, even now when reports are generated that include speed zone violations, all too often a lot are incorrect. The speed zone may have a limit of say 100km yesterday but 50km today then if it is not updated on maps returning it to 100km after roadworks done so believes it still to be 50kmph. In this case, from a unit today was recorded at travelling at 50kmph over speed limit when in fact it he was travelling at the posted speed of 100kmph.
Can you imagine the number of notifications you woul get, including incorrect ones.
Might be different where you are.....just my thoughts only.
The only way to solve this is to have the speed limit captured with the message or a separate speed limit table. So the current speed limit set for the road has no bearing on historical messages. They will be compared to the ruling speed limit at the time.

Why notification with limits from roads is not considered to be added in wialon?
Maybe someone could share their thoughts about it and give feedback would this functionality be necessary and what could be advantages/disadvantages of it?
SarunasBCE, a source of speed limit data should be ready to be loaded with a big number of requests, as we should check every unit message for notifications online. E.g. Google source has its limit in 500 requests per second. Gurtam servers get above 27 000 messages per second.
But this feature is always on the mind. So as soon as we'll find a way how to do it correctly, we'll back to it.
Agree with this function implementation. We need it too as notifications from fixed speed is pointless we do not use it at all.
