tata пишет:First of all, we should think, that we have a drop-down list with the reports. And it won't consist any additional information. So a short Report Name can make more harm than benefit in this case.
I should notice, that long reports name is a very common situation. So if we add some more text there, it can occupy the half of monitor.
And if users make not informative and not structured report names, can anybody guarantee, that descriptions would be clear?
But we can think about information, that exists now, to add to report mouseover tooltip. Ex., report type (unit, unit group or driver), bound elements.
Can this information be useful?
Hi tata,
Our thought was just one of simplicity to assist users more easily identify what the report is/for and assist these users in selecting/modifying or generating the most appropriate report.
Particularly where there may be a large number of reports & users for the account. Ideally this information would not be included in the report generated, existing title should be enough one would think.
A mouse over of sorts would assist, our thought was to simply add, visually withing Wialon, an editable 2 line description of report purpose.
I have attached an image of a past platform we still have as a legacy (not a great platform) but it might further provide an idea of what i am meaning. Although this image is not what we suggest, however the Report Title and the Report "Description" is close to what we mean. In Wialon Title could remain same as is now and the added second column (from our earlier image) would contain a brief 2 line (max) description that would not need to be generated with the report.
if something like this could be achieved through a mouse over it would still be of good benefit. :-)
