Тема: Sudden rise on digital fuel sensor

Hi,

I have a problem with a digital fuel sensor with RS232 output. The sensor has a sudden rise when the vehicle is finished parking. If we change the position just to ACC, the sensor doesnt go back to the level we had. When we start the engine, then the level sensor fall to the original level we had. We already changed the sensor, but did it again. Checked the lines and connections. Now, we changed the AVL to see if thats the problem.

Have you had a similar problem? What else could be?

What is the Fuel Level sensor you are using and the AVL ?

The fuel sensor is CapNavi (LLS-D) and AVL Ruptela TCO4.

Strange ,
How often does your FLS sends data to the device ?
Does your device has a option to stabilize the fuel level after ignition on before sending data to Wialon?

You need to look at what is happening on the serial side using a terminal application as it looks like you are getting spike. Check how you are grounded with a good ground not the same ground as that used for power ground.

How often does your FLS sends data to the device ?

The sensor doesn't have the option to stabilize.

Check how you are grounded with a good ground not the same ground as that used for power ground.

We've changed the GND, because we have two sensors in the unit, testing, and the other doesn´t sense that rise. We separated the GND, and they are connected to an AVL each. We are gonna keep monitoring because this problem is not frequent.

Try to add voltage regulator and check the sensor's output, this kind of fails some times are voltage dependent.

Thanks for your help. We've checked the tank, it had mud and water.

Yes, but  keep engine safe alerting to owner that there is a strange liquid inside tank, not possible with any other sensor, right?
