Mobile applications and smartphone access (iOS / android)

Maruf, new, enchancent web-application for mobile devices like iPhone is in development currently. It should be avaible in 1-2 monthes as far as I know the schedule.

it is not designed for that, see supported browsers list. But I saw that iPhone for example shows main web-application perfectly. So it more depends on the smartphone browser and officially not supported by us.

1. Extendend  Mobile version for smartphones is already avaible in Wialon Hostoing product.
2. For iOS I can only recommend Wialon IPS.

Dwayne78, you mean application that is able to view other vehicles (try http://m.wialon.com with trial registration)? Or application that send itself position to Wialon?

Maruf, you can use own DNS and own login/password only if you have "Wialon Mobile" package. If you don't have it, register on trial.

The mobile version will get much more functionality in the beginning of 2012 due to update of main web application version to the same technology which is now used in mobile.

Its a matter of compatibility, may be we need to issue mobile version adopted to each type of gadget. But it is almost impossible to make web application that works same way in all types of phones(embedded browsers).

Version 1 has more option than option 2 ,and Safari in Iphone 4 doesnt open mobile version 2 :You should solve this ASAP.

Yes this mobile version is muuuch better,version 1 is working fine but V2 currently is crashing in every browser in android tablet ,slow and bugish.I tried Opera mini ,Delphin,standard android browser

Safari in Iphone 4 saying INVALID but safari in Ipad is showing V2 OK.

I have problem with the mobile vertion (m.wialon.com) Some times works well and other not? I don't know if it is me but I don't think so, because I change computer and the same... doesn't work!  Then I tested the mobile vertion of gps-trace and that works great... but the paid vertion some days works and other not??? 

It let me enter the username and password ant then it open the main window but don't let me work or select any option other than logout

Anybody else with this problem?

there is some partners already developing fine Android and IOS apps for watching Wialon via the SDK.
So if your account is enabled for SDK you will soon be able to use nice native Apps.

(ASK is developing one, Kalaschnikov is developing one and also some others)

as i understood it will be released in google play store.
But nevertheless you need to activate SDK function on your domain (if you are using wialon hosting, SDK for Wialon Pro will be avaiable in next release).

By the way, map moving is working fine under android in mobile website. So what exactly are you missing?

Mobile site is a very basic site, but why dont you use the default website? it works fine on Android and if you have that big screen its perfect.
On Samsung S2 its of couse a bit too smal but do you realy use geozones etc. always on mobile phone? I dont know any "native" app for gps tracking systems which shows you POI and Geozones etc.
But for Wialon Hosting there will be realy soon some different Apps avaiable.
I think after adding SDK in Pro Version maybe the developer will also add support for Pro Version (also SDK is different as i understood)

i dont think that there is something ready out of the box what you are looking for.
but why not developing it?
If you use wialon kit it costs you basicaly nothing to store data online at wialon and than just use simple functions on your tab to develop exactly what you need.

and developers in asia should costs not that much if you make a good technical task.

Yes, but we want to use the wialon app and see how there going through Gurtam Mobile Service, in that way we shows how it works to the people, maybe there will be interested in car tracking service, it's more like an publicity strategy.

Can anyone help me, how can I use the open street map with android mobile App?

The issue is that we have our own mobile APP and we are showing the last location on the map of each vehicle, we were using Google Maps but we are going to be suspended from using the Google maps due to Google policy.

So we need free map SDK to use it instead on Google and Open Street was one of the options but there is no clear way how can we call its SDK.

Anyone have an experience and can help?

The point is that translations for Android and iOS versions are made separately.
You may request language file for iOS at development@gurtam.com
