Command Received Time

Тема: Command Received Time

Hello,
We have started using commands by SMS but one important thing is missing: knowing if the tracker has received the message.
We were always sending by smartphone and it is possible to know if it happen, like in the screenshot.
I want to know if is possible to add this feature: a column that shows the time that the unit/driver has received the command in the table of executed commands.

Re: Command Received Time

Fernando Brochetto there is such mechanism for Virtual commands (if commands will be transmitted viaTCP or UDP channel) in general now.
But it needs a research  and additional development for  every device type.
To check and add this possibility for exact device type please send the request to hw@gurtam.com
SMS status can't be indicated.
Thank you.

Re: Command Received Time

Hello yavi,
This is already possible with smartphones so I think it should be possible inside the platform. There is an option called "Receber relatórios de entrega de SMS" that may be "receive SMS delivery reports" in english.
Knowing if a unit has received a command worths a lot:
- You can know if the tracker has received a command for cutting the fuel;
- Many times you send a command and the tracker doesn't receive, so you know that the only solution is doing a maintenance;
- Sometimes you send a command and for some reason it doesn't receive, so you will know if this happens;
- Other times the vehicle is in a area without GPRS signal and it stays for days until it gets some signal, so you will know if the command has been received.

So there is a lot of uses, could you verify if is possible this implementation?

Re: Command Received Time

Fernando Brochetto The problem is -- SMS in smartphone is sent to GSM operator directly and all status are received by phone.
If we speak about mass SMS sending, especially in various regions, Wialon server uses special SMS-gateways for sms.
Different  providers of such servers use unique  APIs for getting the statuses (or don't provide the status of SMS at all).
That's why it's not so easy as it looks like.
